Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has activated state emergency services following the derailment of an Abuja-Kaduna passenger train on Tuesday morning.
In a statement signed by the Commissioner-Designate for Information, Malam Ahmed Maiyaki, the Governor expressed deep concern and directed urgent intervention measures.
The Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and the Ministry of Local Government Affairs have been instructed to:
- Evacuate all stranded passengers from the scene.
- Provide emergency assistance and medical care to the injured.
- Offer psycho-social support to affected victims.
“Governor Sani has mandated that every necessary support be extended to the passengers to alleviate the distress caused by this unfortunate event. Our priority is the safety and well-being of all involved,” Maiyaki said.
The State Government also appealed to residents to remain calm, assuring the public that the situation was under control.
Governor Sani conveyed his sympathy to the victims and their families, while confirming that investigations into the cause of the derailment had commenced in collaboration with relevant federal agencies and. . Continue..Reading. .
