The 2025 Ballon d’Or gala takes place later today in Paris, with Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal and Paris Saint-Germain winger Ousmane Dembele among the leading contenders.
Meanwhile, Madrid-based journalist Edu Aguirre has claimed that Yamal has already secured the award. “I think Lamine Yamal has won the Ballon d’Or,” Aguirre said ahead of the ceremony.
Reports suggest the 17-year-old will attend the gala with 20 family members, a move widely interpreted as a sign he could emerge as the winner.
Dembele still favourite
Dembele, however, has long been regarded as the frontrunner after playing a decisive role in PSG’s treble-winning campaign last season, which included lifting the Champions League trophy.
Awaiting official confirmation
The official announcement of the Ballon d’Or winners will be made tonight in Paris.
However, Dembele’s attendance is in doubt after PSG’s rescheduled clash against Marseille holding same time as the event. If You’re Reading From Phoenix Click On Read Original To Read Full Article
