Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, Minister of Defences, has resigned from his position, effective immediately.

In a resignation letter dated December 1, 2025, the Minister of Defence, Abubakar Badaru, informed President Tinubu that he is stepping down from his position with immediate effect, citing health reasons.

President Tinubu has accepted the resignation and expressed appreciation to Badaru for his dedicated service to the nation.

President Tinubu is expected to transmit the name of Badaru’s successor to the Senate for confirmation later this week.
