The National Examinations Council (NECO) has officially released the 2025 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) External results, recording a strong performance by candidates nationwide.
According to NECO, over 80 per cent of candidates who sat for the 2025 SSCE External examinations obtained five credits and above, including key subjects required for tertiary education admission in Nigeria.
The examination body described the outcome as a significant improvement in candidates’ performance, reflecting sustained efforts to enhance examination integrity, curriculum delivery, and assessment standards.
A senior NECO official noted that the results underscore the growing effectiveness of reforms in the education sector and improved preparedness among candidates who sat for the external examinations.
NECO also reiterated its commitment to credible examinations, adding that strict measures were deployed to curb examination malpractice before, during, and after the conduct of the 2025 SSCE.
Candidates are advised to check their results through NECO’s official result-checking portal, while schools, parents, and stakeholders have been encouraged to support policies aimed at further strengthening Nigeria’s secondary education system.
The release of the 2025 SSCE results comes amid renewed national conversations on education quality, access, and the need to align learning outcomes with global standards.
