The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has confirmed that he is expected to meet with the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, this Wednesday in Washington.
According to a statement from Netanyahu’s office, the high-level meeting will focus on ongoing negotiations with Iran, amid heightened regional and international concerns.
The Prime Minister is expected to stress Israel’s position that any agreement with Iran must go beyond nuclear considerations to include strict restrictions on ballistic missile development and a complete end to Iran’s support for allied groups across the region, often referred to as the Iranian axis.
Israeli officials maintain that without these conditions, negotiations would fail to address what they describe as the core security threats posed by Tehran.
The meeting comes at a critical moment in Middle East diplomacy, as global powers continue to weigh diplomatic engagement against security concerns surrounding Iran’s military capabilities and regional influence.
Further details from the talks are expected to emerge following the meeting.
