The Ondo State Government has commenced payment of salaries to newly recruited teachers across the state.
This development follows the government’s recent recruitment exercise aimed at addressing the shortage of teachers in public primary and secondary schools.
Some beneficiaries who confirmed the payment on Tuesday expressed joy, describing the gesture as a sign of the government’s commitment to improving the education sector.
Officials at the State Ministry of Education also confirmed the development, noting that the prompt payment of the new teachers was in line with Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s resolve to prioritize workers’ welfare.
The government had earlier assured that the recruitment of fresh teachers would not only tackle unemployment but also enhance the quality of learning in schools across the state.
