According to the report, this groundbreaking achievement makes Egbunu the first female soldier to hold the title of Army Warrant Officer in the elite Infantry Corps and the Nigerian Army Women Command.
Lieutenant Maureen Ogbuka, Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations for the Nigerian Army Women Command, was said to have highlighted that Brigadier General Amatso praised Egbunu for her exceptional professionalism, dedication, and effectiveness.

He urged her to continue setting an example by upholding discipline and inspiring younger soldiers, in keeping with the Nigerian Army’s core principles, and stated that her promotion was a result of her efforts.
Army Warrant Officer Egbunu expressed her sincere gratitude to God and Lieutenant General OO Oluyede, the chief of the army, for their visionary leadership and assistance in facilitating her career advancement in her acceptance speech.
