Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) has claimed that Ukraine is preparing a provocation in Poland designed to implicate Moscow and Minsk.
According to the SVR, the alleged plan involves members of the “Freedom of Russia” Legion and Belarusian “Kalinoŭski Regiment,” both of which fight alongside the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The operation would reportedly simulate a sabotage attack on critical infrastructure inside Poland to give the appearance of Russian involvement.
Moscow further alleged that the plan was jointly developed by Ukraine’s military intelligence (GUR) and Polish special services, and that Warsaw is aware of it.
The SVR also accused Kyiv of orchestrating recent drone incursions into Poland and Romania with the intention of drawing NATO states into direct confrontation with Russia.
Neither Ukraine, Poland, nor NATO has yet responded to the Russian claims.
