Strategic Pillars of the 2026 Budget
The “Budget of Shared Prosperity” is anchored on four major pillars:
1. Human-Centric City – strengthening education, healthcare, and social welfare
2. Modern Infrastructure – accelerated development of roads, housing, power, water, and transport systems
3. Thriving Economy – boosting job creation, SME growth, and macroeconomic stability
4. Effective Governance – improving service delivery, accountability, and institutional performance
Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasised that the 2026 budget aligns with the refined T.H.E.M.E.S+ Agenda and the state’s Parastatal Monitoring Framework, which ensures tighter oversight of MDAs to drive measurable outcomes.
The appropriation bill now awaits consideration and approval by the Lagos State House of Assembly.
