Nigerian Senate on Tuesday unsealed the office of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
Deputy Director of the Sergeant-at-Arms, Alabi Adedeji, carried out the removal of the seal, which had remained on the office door since March 6 when she was suspended.
The seal was placed following the Senate’s decision to suspend the Kogi Central senator for six months over alleged gross misconduct and violation of Senate rules.
It is, however, unclear on whose directive the seal was removed or whether the senator has been granted permission to resume work when the Senate reconvenes on October 7.
This development comes despite the Senate’s earlier position that Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan would not be allowed to return until her pending case against Senate President Godswill Akpabio is resolved in court.
