The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has established a new radio station, Majority FM 89.5, reportedly to support the re-election campaign of President Bola Tinubu in Rivers State.
Findings by LeadNaija News indicate that the radio station is located within the Renewed Hope Ambassadors’ office in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.

The development comes amid heightened political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections, particularly in the South-South geopolitical zone, where political alignments and campaign structures are beginning to take shape.
Sources familiar with the initiative say Majority FM 89.5 is expected to serve as a strategic communication platform for promoting the policies, programmes, and re-election agenda of President Tinubu under the Renewed Hope banner.

Although no official statement has been issued by the station or the FCT Minister as of the time of filing this report, the move has already generated reactions across political circles in Rivers State, given Wike’s continued influence in the region.

Political observers view the establishment of the radio station as a sign of early groundwork for the 2027 presidential race, especially in states considered politically strategic.
