At least two persons have been confirmed dead, while eight others sustained injuries in a fatal road accident involving an 18-seater passenger bus in Bayelsa State.

Confirming the incident, the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Bayelsa State Command, Prince Abosi, said preliminary findings revealed that the bus driver lost control of the vehicle after encountering a traffic bomb on the road.
According to him, FRSC officials who arrived at the scene gathered that the bus was conveying 10 passengers at the time of the crash.
“Two of the passengers were confirmed dead at the scene, while the remaining occupants sustained varying degrees of injuries,” Abosi said.
The injured victims were promptly rescued and rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention by emergency responders.
The FRSC sector commander advised motorists to exercise caution, especially on highways with poor road conditions, and called on relevant authorities to address road hazards to prevent further loss of lives.+See More Details. .
