Omosede Igbinedion, of the APC, has secured a landslide victory in Edo’s Ovia federal constituency by-election. With 77,053 votes, she triumphed over PDP’s Johnny Aikpitanyi, who garnered 3,838 votes. The seat was previously held by Dennis Idahosa, now the state’s deputy governor.
Igbinedion won with a decisive 77,053 votes, far outpacing her rival, Aikpitanyi (3,838 votes).
The by-election followed the vacancy of the seat after Idahosa became the deputy governor in 2024.
