Veteran Nigerian actor, Segun Remi, popularly known as Chief Kanran, is dead.
His death was confirmed by celebrity journalist, Seun Oloketuyi, who announced the development in a post on his Instagram page on Friday.
According to Oloketuyi, the popular film star passed away on Friday morning at the age of 72. However, details surrounding his death were still sketchy at the time of filing this report.
Chief Kanran, until his demise, was a prominent figure in the Yoruba film industry. He was widely celebrated for his distinct acting style, wit, and commanding presence on stage and in movies.
Over several decades, he featured in numerous stage productions and films, earning admiration from colleagues and fans alike.
Announcing his death, Oloketuyi wrote: “Popular actor, Segun Remi, popularly known as Chief Kanran, died Friday morning.”
