The federal high court sitting in Lagos has convicted four more internet fraudsters recently arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) during a raid in Abeokuta, Ogun state.
The convicts — Adeleye Emmanuel, Akinyele Kehinde Fatai, Shonekan Waris Bolaji, and Olufemi Korede Ayomiposi — were arraigned on separate one-count charges bordering on impersonation, identity theft, and internet fraud.
Delivering judgment on Monday, Dehinde Dipeolu, the presiding judge, found them guilty and imposed varying sentences, including imprisonment, fines, and restitution.
Emmanuel was sentenced to one month of community service under the supervision of the Nigerian Correctional Service.
The judge further directed that he carry a placard between 8 am and 5 pm daily with the inscription: crime does not. . Continue..Reading. .
