The Dangote Refinery may be considering another round of petrol price reductions as competition intensifies in Nigeria’s downstream oil sector.

According to depot pricing data as of April 24, several private depots have edged below the ₦840 per litre mark:

  • AITEO: ₦839/Litre
  • Pinnacle: ₦838/Litre
  • WOSBAB: ₦838/Litre

In contrast, pricing at the Dangote Refinery remains officially “on hold” at both the gantry and coastal levels, sparking speculation that the refinery may be recalibrating its pricing strategy in response to shifting market dynamics.

Industry experts say the refinery’s current stance may be a calculated pause, giving room for adjustments that could help it retain a competitive edge in the marketplace.

Since its entry into Nigeria’s fuel market, Dangote Refinery has significantly influenced pricing trends and distribution patterns.
