Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Dr. Paul Enenche, has cautioned Nigerians against patronising online loan platforms, describing them as “agents of the devil in covenant with the spirit of debt.”
Speaking during a Sunday service in Abuja, Enenche warned that many digital lending platforms are exploiting economic hardship to lure people into financial bondage. He stressed that while loans may appear to provide quick relief, they often result in long-term struggles and humiliation for those unable to meet repayment deadlines.
“These platforms are not just business ventures; they are agents of bondage,” the cleric declared. “Anyone who commits to them is unknowingly entering into covenant with the spirit of debt.”
The fiery preacher urged Nigerians to cultivate patience, embrace financial discipline, and trust in God’s provision rather than falling prey to what he described as “satanic traps.”
His remarks come amid rising concerns over predatory lending practices by several online loan providers, some of whom have faced regulatory scrutiny for unethical debt recovery tactics, including public shaming of defaulters.
