Amid alleged attacks on Christian communities in Northern Nigeria, none of the country’s prominent church pastors have taken the initiative to visit the region and witness the situation firsthand.

A Netizen FS YUSUF (@FSYusuff) noted that, despite the substantial tithes and offerings collected from congregations nationwide, local religious leaders have largely remained absent from the areas most affected by violence.

The netizen also called Nigerians attention to the young missionary from the United States who traveled to Northern Nigeria and draw attention to the struggles of Christian communities there.

The American missionary and humanitarian, Alex Barbir, a vocal advocate against genocide against Christians recently facilitated rebuilding of houses in Yelewata following a massacre that occurred in June 2025, resulting in the deaths of between up to 200 people, mostly Christians, and displacing over 3,000 others.

Sharing an emotional video on X, the user called out Nigerian pastors for their silence amid persecution faced by faithful in the country.
