Hama- Israel War: “What Just Happened Will Shake the Whole Nation !!— And Nobody Saw It Coming!”Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has cautioned Nigerians against calls to replicate the ongoing protests in Nepal, warning that such actions could destabilise the country.
In a lengthy post on his X handle on Wednesday, Omokri recalled the massive destruction recorded during the #EndSARS protests in 2020, which he said caused Lagos State over $305 million in damages, including the burning of the state’s world-class forensic laboratory, 80 BRT buses, courthouses, and police stations.
He further noted that the destruction during last year’s “Days of Rage” protests in Northern Nigeria amounted to losses worth ₦200 billion, nearly plunging the country into a security crisis.
Omokri criticised those who led the #EndSARS protests in Lagos, claiming many were not indigenes or taxpayers in the state but left their own “poorly governed” states untouched.
Drawing comparisons with Nepal, he argued that Nigeria enjoys greater political stability and economic progress, pointing to the peaceful coexistence of five living former Heads of State with the current administration through the Council of State.
Highlighting economic gains, Omokri stated that Nigeria’s GDP grew by $67 billion in two years under President Bola Tinubu, while almost a million indigent students now benefit from the Federal Government’s student loan initiative.
He wrote:
“Nigeria is a politically stable and economically progressive country. Before they deceive you into burning Nigeria like they are burning Nepal, think twice.
