The Edo State Police Command has concluded arrangements to ensure a peaceful and secure atmosphere across the State as Muslim faithful celebrate this year’s Eid-Al-Fitr.
A total of 5,000 police personnel have been deployed to enhance police visibility, dominate public spaces and respond promptly to any emerging situation. The deployment cuts across Eid prayer grounds, major roads, motor parks, and other locations expected to witness large gatherings.
In addition, the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) personnel have been strategically positioned and are already carrying out sweeps of designated prayer grounds and high-traffic areas to detect and neutralize any potential threats. These preventive checks will continue throughout the celebration period.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Monday Agbonika, fdc, has also directed sustained patrols and intelligence-driven operations, with particular attention to entry and exit routes into the State.

Residents are encouraged to go about their lawful activities without fear, while remaining observant and reporting any unusual movements or objects to the Police. The Command will maintain a strong presence before, during, and after the celebrations.
While wishing the Muslim faithful a joyful Salah, the Command reiterates its readiness to safeguard lives and property across Edo State.
