President Bola Tinubu has extended warm congratulations to Nigerian Muslims as they celebrate this year’s Maulud Nabiy, the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad.
In a statement released on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu encouraged Muslims to use the occasion as a time for reflection on the noble life and teachings of the Holy Prophet.
He urged Muslims to embrace the values of the Prophet, including compassion, kindness, and selflessness, and to apply them in their daily lives.
“As we mark the Maulud, we should all reflect on the life lived by Prophet Muhammad, exemplified by purity, selflessness, perseverance, kindness and compassion. We must endeavour to imbibe those virtues, Full Details” Tinubu said.
The President also called on Muslims to devote the holiday to praying for Nigeria, expressing the importance of empathy and solidarity in the face of challenges.
In a similar message, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, congratulated Muslims on celebrating Eid-el-Maulud.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Krishi, Abbas called for prayers for peace and prosperity in Nigeria.
The Speaker stressed the need for divine guidance at this critical time, urging the Islamic faithful to pray for the country’s leaders and to follow the teachings of Prophet Muhammad, who he described as a model of peace and unity.
Abbas encouraged Muslims to emulate the Prophet’s virtues of godliness, sacrifice, and obedience to authority.
He also called on Nigerians to rededicate themselves to the nation’s progress and to support President Tinubu’s administration, affirming the 10th National Assembly’s commitment to backing initiatives that promote national peace and development.
