Tech billionaire and X (formerly Twitter) owner, Elon Musk, has criticized a new U.S. spending bill that raises the debt ceiling by a record $5 trillion, calling the move reckless and evidence of a broken political system.
In a fiery post on his verified X page on Monday, Musk described the United States as effectively operating under a âone-party country,â which he mockingly dubbed the “Porky Pig Party.”
âIt is obvious with the insane spending of this bill, which increases the debt ceiling by a record FIVE TRILLION DOLLARS that we live in a one-party country â the PORKY PIG PARTY!!â Musk wrote.
He concluded the post with a call for a new political party that, in his words, would âactually care about the people.â
The post has sparked a wave of reactions online, with supporters echoing his sentiments and critics accusing the billionaire of oversimplifying complex fiscal policies.
Musk has in recent years become increasingly vocal about U.S. politics, frequently using his X platform to weigh in on government spending, taxation, and political accountability.
