According to an exclusive report by GazetteNGR, the German government declined the nomination on March 13, citing concerns over what it described as “erratic behaviour” and past ethnocentric, divisive, and religiously charged comments attributed to Fani-Kayode.
The report also links the decision to a recent incident in which he allegedly insulted the UK High Commissioner during a Ramadan dinner.
Fani-Kayode was among over 60 ambassadorial nominees approved earlier in March by Bola Ahmed Tinubu, with reports at the time indicating he had been posted to Germany.
