The Initiatives for Social Inclusion and Grassroots Literacy (ISGIL), in partnership with ZAN Multi Concept Limited @zanmulticoncept , on Monday 13th October 2025, commemorated the 2025 International Day of the Girl Child at the Deroma Hotel Banquet Hall, Kuje, Abuja, with the theme “The Girl I Am, The Change I Lead: Girls on the Frontlines of Crisis.”
The event brought together students, education stakeholders, and development partners to inspire and empower girls through leadership, education, and self-confidence.
In his remarks, Owoseye Oluwayomi, Founder and Chairman of ISGIL, reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to advancing literacy, social inclusion, and the empowerment of children especially girls through education and skill development.
Captain Luqman Gidado, Executive Director of ZAN Multi Concept Limited and Head of Strategy and Operations at ISGIL, emphasized that both organizations share a vision of empowering girls and communities through innovation and education.
“ISGIL is a movement that places girls at the center of community resilience and national development,” he said. “Together, ZAN and ISGIL combine strategic expertise with grassroots engagement to amplify girls’ voices and drive lasting change.”
Representing the FCT Universal Basic Education Board (UBEB), Dr. Tamanuwa S. encouraged the girls to dream big, embrace leadership early, and strive for excellence. Guest speakers, including Mrs. Maureen Kambai, Ms. Aishat Babaji, and NDLEA’s Stella-Maris Amadi, inspired the students to be confident, courageous, and responsible leaders who use education as a tool for transformation.
The event featured motivational sessions, interactive discussions, and recognition of outstanding students. The Special Guest and a media personality, Mr. Deji Adesogan (Uncle Deji), commended teachers for their dedication and rewarded selected students with cash gifts, pledging further support through the donation of school uniforms.
In her closing remarks, Mrs. Grace Owoseye, Secretary of ISGIL’s Board of Trustees, appreciated all partners and reiterated ISGIL and ZAN Multi Concept Limited’s commitment to promoting education, gender inclusion, and literacy development across Nigeria.
The celebration served as both a call to action and a reminder that every girl is not just part of the future but a leader shaping it today.
