A source stated that PDP leaders are working to forge a Jonathan-Obi alliance.

According to the informant, the opposition plans to field either Jonathan or Obi as the party’s presidential candidate, with the other heading the campaign in either the South East or South-South, depending on who is chosen.

“For example, if Jonathan becomes the presidential candidate, Obi would lead his campaign in the South East.

“Conversely, if Obi flies the party’s flag, Jonathan would be persuaded to lead the campaign in the South-South,” the source explained.

“Our leaders are working hard to ensure that these two influential politicians stay in the PDP and work together to secure victory.

“The focus is on the revival and survival of the party beyond 2027.

“It’s clear that the PDP cannot make significant progress in the 2027 presidential election if Jonathan and Obi end up on opposing platforms,” the source added.
