The match unfolded in chilly, gusty conditions, with few clear-cut chances. Chelsea’s forward, Nicolas Jackson, came closest to scoring with two first-half opportunities.
The first was a sharp save from Everton’s goalkeeper, Jordan Pickford, while the second saw Jackson’s header crash against the post from close range.
Despite their dominance in possession, Chelsea failed to create further openings.
Everton, meanwhile, seemed content to frustrate Chelsea, and after the break, neither side looked capable of producing a winner.
The result was the end of Chelsea’s eight-match winning streak and extended Everton’s unbeaten run at home to six matches.
