Father Allegedly Stabs Son to Death in Umarari, Maiduguri

A 21-year-old man has been killed following an alleged stabbing by his father in Umarari, Maiduguri, Borno State.

According to sources, the incident occurred on February 25 at about 9:00 p.m. when Chairman Mai Maya, whose age is yet to be confirmed, reportedly had an altercation with his son, Alhaji Mohammed Lawan.

During the confrontation, the father allegedly stabbed his son twice on the back.

Police from Ite Division, led by a patrol team, arrived at the scene to find the victim lying in a pool of blood.

Photographs were taken before the victim was evacuated to the State Specialist Hospital, Maiduguri, for medical attention.

The victim was pronounced dead on February 26 at approximately 5:15 a.m. by attending medical personnel.

His body was photographed and released to his family for burial according to Islamic rites.
