The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has confirmed that its Washington Field Office is now conducting a joint investigation into the shooting of two National Guard members in Washington, D.C., earlier today.
In an official statement, the FBI said: “The FBI’s Washington Field Office is working with our law enforcement partners to investigate the shooting of two National Guard members in Washington, D.C., this afternoon. We have no further details to provide at this time due to the ongoing investigation.”
Authorities have not yet released additional information regarding the condition of the victims, the motive behind the attack, or any suspects.
The incident has heightened security concerns in the U.S. capital as multiple agencies continue to comb through evidence and secure the area.
