The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested four suspected members of a notorious armed robbery and car-snatching syndicate believed to be responsible for a string of vehicle thefts across Abuja.
The arrests were made on April 11 following actionable intelligence that led officers from the Life Camp Division to Kado Village, where two suspects were initially apprehended, according to a report by Zagazola Makama.
Further investigations led to the arrest of two additional suspects at Gwarinpa. One of the suspects, identified as Mohammed Abdulazeez, was allegedly responsible for receiving the stolen vehicles and was picked up by detectives at Wuse Zone 4.
Police sources revealed that the suspects confessed to stealing four vehicles—two in March and another two in April 2025. Efforts are currently underway to apprehend the gang’s leader and recover the stolen vehicles.
The State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) has taken over the case and is continuing the investigation.
