The Forum has also called on President Bola Tinubu to issue an ultimatum to the Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike, to immediately address the spiralling insecurity in the federal capital territory.
A few days ago, Maduagwu, a young Nigerian, was killed during an armed robbery at her Katampe residence in the early hours of September 29.
In a statement signed by the president of the forum, Ayuba Danladi, the group described her death as a “national shame” and a reflection of the abysmal state of security in the FCT.
“It is shocking and unacceptable that while criminal elements have laid siege to Abuja, terrorising residents, the minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, has continued to chase clout with eye-service infrastructural projects, the group lamented.
“We ask: Is it dead people that will make use of those roads, bridges, and city beautification projects he grandstands about daily?”
The Forum said the killing has exposed the “failure of leadership in the FCT,” adding that if armed robbers could attack an upper-middle-class neighbourhood like Katampe, then residents in the suburbs face even greater danger.
It tasked President Bola Tinubu to issue an ultimatum to the FCT Minister to address the insecurity within a defined timeframe or resign from office.
“Abuja cannot continue to be a playground for criminals while the minister parades half-completed projects as achievements,” Danladi said.
