The 2027 Governorship ambition of Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, has created panic and confusion amongst the Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, Principal Staff Secretary to the President, Hakeem Muri-Okunola and Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa.
The confused trio believe the sudden emergence of young Tinubu in the race means they stand little or no chance in getting the needed endorsement of the President to run for the Governorship of Lagos.

A notorious corrupt politician who is under investigation by the United States Department of Justice for money laundering, Obasa, is said to be boasting of using whatever it takes including “eliminating” anyone who will pose a challenge in his Governorship bid.
Those close to him recall how he allegedly threatened late Senator Adebayo Osinowo with death and few months later, the Senator who represented Lagos East, popularly called “Pepperito,” died.
Insiders told me that while Gbajabiamila feels entitled to the Lagos Governorship ticket, the President, before his son started making moves, had a soft spot for Muri-Okunola to succeed Babajide Sanwoolu whose tenure ends in 2027.
Seyi Tinubu’s foray into the 2027 Governorship race remains a major headache for Lagos Political leaders even though his pathway to victory remains hazy at the moment.
