Federal Govt Awards The Reconstruction Of The Ado-Iyin-Aramoko-Itawure (56.18 km) Road

The project has been awarded to Messrs CBC Global Civil & Building Construction Nigeria Limited, with a completion timeline of 24 months starting from March 23, 2026.

The Ekiti State Commissioner for Information, Rt. Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun, disclosed this in a statement made available to journalists in Ado-Ekiti. He explained that the road will span 56.18 kilometres, beginning from Fajuyi Park in Ado-Ekiti and extending to the Osun State boundary. The construction will utilize reinforced concrete, starting from the Police Headquarters in Ado-Ekiti through to the state boundary.

Providing further details, Olatunbosun stated that the project has progressed beyond the planning stage, as the site has already been handed over to the contractor. Construction work has commenced around the Erio-Ekiti axis, demonstrating the Federal Government’s commitment to delivering the project on schedule.

He described the development as a significant boost to the socio-economic growth of Ekiti State and the Southwest region as a whole. According to him, the road serves as a critical corridor connecting key parts of the country, and its reconstruction will greatly enhance mobility, ease transportation challenges, and create more opportunities for trade and commerce.

“This project goes beyond road construction; it is about improving lives, strengthening economic ties, and enhancing regional integration. We sincerely appreciate the Federal Government for this intervention and assure the Federal Ministry of Works of our full support to ensure its successful completion,” he said.

Olatunbosun further reaffirmed the commitment of the administration of Biodun Oyebanji to initiatives that drive sustainable development and improve the well-being of the people.

He noted that the project is one of the gains from the Governor’s frequent engagements and strategic visits to the President and federal institutions in Abuja.

The Commissioner also commended President Bola Tinubu for fulfilling his campaign promises to the people of Ekiti State through impactful infrastructure development.

He appealed to residents, road users, and other stakeholders to cooperate with the contractor and relevant authorities, particularly in managing traffic and observing safety measures throughout the construction period.
