The House of Representatives Committee on Petroleum Resources (Downstream) has called for restoration of adequate supply of crude oil to domestic refineries to avoid fuel supply disruption in the country.

Chairman of the Committee Ikeagwuonu Ugochinyere while briefing journalists on challenges in the downstream sector, raised concerns over domestic supply bottlenecks and pump price hike compounded by the ongoing US-Iran conflict which has driven up global crude oil prices.

He however urged the Presidential Technical Committee on Crude-for-Naira Initiative to act swiftly to scale up quality crude supply to domestic refineries and also address the nefarious activities of some foreign trading companies functioning as intermediaries for domestic crude products.
