The Federal Government has banned electricity distribution companies (DisCos) and their accredited installers from collecting any form of payment for electricity meters from customers.+See full details

The government issued a stern warning that any DisCo official or installer found extorting customers under any guise in the course of meter installation will be prosecuted in accordance with the law.

According to the directive, electricity meters are to be provided to customers at no cost, as stipulated under existing metering regulations, aimed at protecting consumers and ensuring transparency in electricity billing.
