The Police Service Commission (PSC), in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), has announced the commencement of recruitment of 50,000 police constables, in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s directive to strengthen community policing and boost internal security nationwide.
In a statement issued on Thursday by Torty Njoku Kalu, Head of Protocol and Public Affairs, the Commission confirmed that the recruitment portal will officially open on Monday, December 15, 2025, and close on Sunday, January 25, 2026.
According to the PSC, the nationwide recruitment drive aims to expand the manpower capacity of the Nigeria Police Force and improve security coverage across all communities.
Qualifications
Applicants for the General Duty Cadre must possess:
GCE Ordinary Level, SSCE/NECO, or equivalent
Minimum of five credits, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings
Applicants for the Specialists Cadre must possess:
Minimum of four credits, including English and Mathematics
At least three years of experience in relevant fields
Valid Trade Test certificates
Eligibility Criteria
Interested candidates must:
Be Nigerian citizens by birth
Be between 18 and 25 years for General Duty, or 18 and 28 years for Specialists
Be medically, physically, and psychologically fit
Meet height requirements of 1.67m (male) and 1.64m (female) for General Duty
Fulfill all additional conditions listed on the recruitment portal

The PSC emphasized that the entire recruitment exercise will be free, transparent, and strictly based on merit. Applicants are warned to beware of fraudsters demanding payment at any stage of the process.
