Four men have been arrested for allegedly impersonating the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, to swindle a military officer of N150 million.
Yashim Kajang who happens to be the ringleader was apprehended on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, for allegedly defrauding retired Major General A.K. Ibrahim and others.
The scam involved a purported land transaction at Guzape II Cadastral Zone, Abuja, where Kajang claimed to work with the FCT Minister and the Director of Lands to deliver land documents.
He reportedly collected over N150 million in relation to Plot 1985 at Guzape II, measuring three hectares, as well as other plots.
During interrogation, Kajang named his alleged accomplices: Stephen Mhambe and Danladi Jatau from the Urban and Regional Planning Department of the FCT Administration (FCDA), and Terngu Ipaven of 2 Chief Palace Road, Durumi 2, Abuja.
He confessed that the trio provided him with land data and information used to carry out the fraudulent transaction. All four suspects remain under police investigation.
