The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested 58-year-old alleged fugitive drug lord Uzoma Valentine Ilomuanya, who had been on its wanted list and that of British authorities for over 15 years.
Ilomuanya was apprehended in Lagos on February 23, 2026, in a coordinated operation by the Agency’s Special Operations Unit.
According to NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi, Ilomuanya was first arrested in the UK in 2003, convicted for drug trafficking, and sentenced to nine years but released after two years on appeal. He was arrested again in the UK in July 2011 but jumped bail and fled to Nigeria.
