Fire Destroys 10 Shops In Ogunpa Market In Ibadan

At least 10 shops were completely burnt down by fire on Monday night at Iya Maryam Adebara Complex in the Ogunpa Market area of Ibadan.

The Chairman of the Oyo State Fire Services Agency, Mr Moroof Akinwande, disclosed this in a statement made available on Tuesday in Ibadan.

Akinwande said the agency’s personnel received a distress call about the fire incident from Baale Ogunpa, Alhaji Nurudeen Lawal, by telephone at exactly 8:11 p.m., on Monday.

The Fire Service chief said that firemen were promptly deployed to the scene of the incident and, on arrival, found 10 shops out of several others already engulfed by fire.
