Firefighters are continuing to battle a wildfire burning in the rugged terrain of Du Toitskloof Pass in the Cape Winelands, Western Cape, as containment efforts remain challenging.
The fire, which broke out on the Worcester side of the pass, has been difficult to control due to steep slopes and dense vegetation.
Crews from the Cape Winelands District Municipality have been working on the ground, focusing on containing flare-ups and preventing the fire from spreading further.
Authorities say no injuries or structural damage have been reported so far. Motorists using the N1 through Du Toitskloof Pass have been urged to remain cautious, as smoke and firefighting operations may affect visibility and traffic flow.
Fire services remain on high alert as suppression efforts continue.
