A Federal High Court in Abuja had ordered the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) to produce the Islamic cleric on February 18 to determine his bail application.
However, counsel to the cleric informed the court that his client had been moved to DSS custody.
Sheikh Abdulkadir was arrested in December 2025 over alleged links to a coup plot against President Bola Tinubu’s government, with family sources connecting his detention to a ₦2 million gift from an adherent indicted in the case.
Justice Peter Lifu had previously noted the cleric has been held in “safe custody” without access to family since December 11, 2025.
