Foreign Returnee Seeks Help After Over N100m Vanishes from UBA Account

A Nigerian returnee from abroad is calling for urgent assistance after losing over one hundred million naira from his savings account with the United Bank for Africa (UBA).

According to human rights advocate Harrison Gwamnishu, reported this through his X page said , the returnee discovered that the entire sum had disappeared, with bank officials reportedly claiming the money was withdrawn by someone who presented documents alleging that the account holder was dead and had already been buried.

Despite being very much alive, the victim said he was never contacted or verified before the transaction was carried out.

Details of the transaction, including an account statement, were shared publicly by Gwamnishu, raising serious concerns about bank security protocols and identity verification processes.
