A former Lagos State APC Chairman, Otunba Henry Ajomale, has stated that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu intervened in the leadership crisis rocking the Lagos State House of Assembly because the institution is his own political creation.
Speaking at an event in Lagos on Saturday, where Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu was honoured, Ajomale, a member of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), assured that the crisis will be fully resolved soon, likely in the next Assembly sitting.
The crisis erupted after Speaker Mudashiru Obasa was removed from his position, leading him to challenge the decision in court.
Ajomale defended Obasa’s right to seek legal action but notedc that Tinubu had to step in to prevent further instability.
His words: “Somebody is aggrieved, and he went to court. It is his right to do so. But since Mr. President intervened—rightly too, because this Assembly is his own making—he will not allow it to create a bigger problem.”
He further revealed that Obasa has been reinstated, and the court case will likely be dropped soon.
“Now that he (Obasa) has been returned, I believe that the case will be withdrawn from court. In no time, perhaps at the next sitting, you will see the difference,” he said. Read Full Detail
Ajomale expressed confidence that the Assembly will soon return to normalcy, following Tinubu’s decisive intervention.
