Manchester United suffered another disappointing loss at Old Trafford, falling 3-1 to Brighton in a match where defensive lapses and clinical finishing from the visitors made the difference. The Seagulls opened the scoring in the 5th minute when Yasin Ayari’s incisive pass found Mitoma, who set up Yasin Minteh for a simple tap-in. United responded with Bruno Fernandes converting a penalty in the 23rd minute after Zirkzee was fouled by Carlos Baleba.
The second half saw Brighton take control as Mitoma restored their lead in the 60th minute, finishing a clever cross from Minteh after a swift counterattack. United’s defensive frailties were exposed again in the 76th minute when Onana failed to collect a low cross from Ayari, allowing Georginio Rutter to pounce and seal the victory for Brighton.
The defeat leaves Manchester United languishing in 13th place with 26 points, marking another blow to their hopes of climbing the table. Brighton, on the other hand, continued their impressive campaign, moving up to 9th with 34 points.Tap Here for the Full Story
