In a statement released on Saturday, Governor Sani said he met with the Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, to review progress on the project, which is being constructed using durable concrete technology.
“Our deliberations centered on expediting the completion of the Abuja–Jere–Kaduna segment, a vital artery whose swift finalisation promises to alleviate persistent traffic congestion, thereby facilitating seamless travel for millions, including residents of Kaduna and Nigerians nationwide,” Governor Sani said.
He noted that the highway represents a key component of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at strengthening transport infrastructure, boosting economic growth, and enhancing regional integration.
The governor added that Minister Umahi reaffirmed the project’s strategic priority within the current administration, disclosing that contractors have been directed to implement double shifts to accelerate progress without compromising quality.
Governor Sani further revealed that the Kaduna State Government is maintaining close collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Works to ensure timely completion.
“Together, with the Federal Government, we are determined that the Abuja–Kaduna–Kano Expressway will not only symbolize renewed hope and national unity but also stand as a beacon of sustainable development for generations to come,” he said.
