The 323 Artillery Regiment, based at Owena Cantonment, Akure, has announced that it will carry out a Range Classification Exercise from Monday, 18 to Tuesday, August 19, 2025, daily from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Military Range, Ita-Ogbolu, Akure.
Major Njoka Irabor, Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, 32 Artillery Brigade, said the exercise is part of routine military training aimed at strengthening the operational proficiency and weapon-handling skills of officers and soldiers.
He urged residents of Ita-Ogbolu and surrounding communities not to be alarmed by troop movements or gunfire, and advised commuters and farmers to avoid the range area during the exercise for safety reasons.
The statement also called on community leaders and the public to assist in spreading the information, including translating it into local languages to ensure maximum awareness.
