Veteran Nollywood actor, Pete Edochie, has expressed frustration over the rising cost of electricity and power supply in Nigeria, revealing how much he spends daily to keep the lights on in his home.

According to him, “I pay ten thousand naira for light every day in my house. Then I spend additional thirty thousand; twenty for diesel, ten for fuel. On the whole I spend forty thousand every single day on light. It disturbs me a lot.”

The actor said the situation reflects the broader hardship faced by ordinary Nigerians who struggle daily with the country’s electricity challenges.

Edochie also criticised politicians, accusing many of entering politics mainly to enjoy power rather than serve the people. He said, “Nobody seems to be bothered about what is happening to the common man.”
