TOP STORY TODAY: ADC Launches In Adamawa, Urges Aggrieved Members To Join For Change ‎The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Adamawa State chapter, in collaboration with the Coalition for the Protection of Democracy (COPDEM), held its annual town hall meeting on Saturday, September 27, 2025. ‎The meeting, attended by various political leaders and supporters across the 21 local government areas of the state, informed members and stakeholders of the party’s upcoming scheduled activities. ‎The state chairman of the party, Honorable Shehu Yohanna, in his message, called on party faithful to make peace with one another and recruit more members into the party fold. ‎Comrade Shehu Yohanna further announced that in the coming week, the party will issue registers and membership cards across the state, urging supporters to register all those willing to join the party at the grassroots level. ‎The state chairman noted that the unveiling of the party was made possible through donations from various critical stakeholders and party members. ‎The director of mobilization for the party, Muhammad Shuwa, while speaking to the media, said the main purpose of the gathering was to demonstrate unity, address the cries of the masses, and reach out to everyone in society. He encouraged those aligned with the party to come forward and register, rather than staying outside the party and making noise. ‎Muhammad Shuwa added that the program was held to kickstart the party’s registration process and ensure all members are properly captured during the exercise. ‎He urged people to register for membership, revealing that everyone attended voluntarily, as no allowances were given to participants, unlike other parties that sponsor people with money or food. ‎Speaking further, Comrade Shuwa emphasized that the party is hoping for positive change, and the only weapon to ensure that change manifests is a voter registration card. He explained, “With that, one can vote out a bad government and vote in a good one.” ‎The ADC secretary for Girei LGA, Mr. Jacob Joseph Kwaya (JP), when contacted, said the party will soon commence its registration exercise across the state and expects to capture many members. With that, one can vote out a bad government and vote in a good one ‎Jacob Joseph further noted that the state leadership has asked them to call on all aggrieved members to settle disputes for the betterment of the party and to allow those willing to join to do so. According to him, the party aims to become the leading opposition party and take over the state in the 2027 general elections, if all things are equal. He called on aggrieved members of both PDP and APC not to hesitate to register with the party for the development and progress of the state and the country as a whole.
