He recounted the story of a wealthy man from Ibadan who sought his help for an extraordinary problem. “A very wealthy man came here to see us and said he had not been able to sleep for a long time,” Pastor Adeboye narrated. The man, who owned 14 houses in Abuja, was desperate for relief from his sleeplessness and firmly believed that prayers offered at the RCCG could restore his rest.
In his desperation, the man made a striking vow. “If I can sleep, I will give you all my 14 houses,” he declared to Pastor Adeboye. This testimony served as a powerful reminder of how easily people take God’s blessings for granted until they encounter someone struggling with what they perceive as routine.
“Look at how easy it is for you to sleep,” Pastor Adeboye urged the congregation. “Why don’t you thank God for the ability to sleep?” The reminder resonated deeply, prompting worshippers to lift their voices in heartfelt praise and thanksgiving to God for the gift of rest and other simple blessings they often overlook.
Pastor Adeboye expanded on the theme of gratitude, urging believers not to take God’s protection and provision for granted. He reflected on the challenges of the past year, emphasizing how God’s faithfulness shielded many from harm. “Kidnappers and other evils did not come near your homes or families,” he said, reminding worshippers of God’s constant presence and protection in their lives.
Through this testimony, Pastor Adeboye called on the faithful to cultivate a heart of gratitude, appreciating both the small and significant ways in which God’s grace manifests daily. He urged believers to always recognize God’s blessings, encouraging them to acknowledge His goodness with praise and thanksgiving, no matter the circumstances. The service ended with the congregation filled with renewed appreciation for God’s mercies, committing themselves to a lifestyle of gratitude and faith.Tap Here for the Full Story
