The Defence Headquarters says joint counterterrorism operations carried out by Nigerian troops alongside the United States Africa Command have led to the d+ath of 175 ISIS-linked terr+rists during coordinated strikes across North-East Nigeria.
According to the Director of Defence Information, Samaila Uba, the recent air and ground operations targeted terrorist hideouts, weapons storage facilities, checkpoints, logistics bases and financial structures linked to insurgent activities in the region.
The military said several senior commanders of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) were among those neutralised, including Abu-Bilal al-Minuki, who was described as a major global ISIS operative involved in terrorist financing, recruitment, logistics and attack coordination.Tap To Read Complete, Details. .
