Popular Nollywood actor Ibrahim Chatta has addressed claims by fans that he is underrated in the Nigerian film industry, saying the success he enjoys today is purely by God’s grace.
The award-winning actor revealed that despite public perception, he remains extremely busy in the movie industry and often has to decline many acting invitations from colleagues.
According to Chatta, the workload in the industry is significant, which is why he carefully selects the projects he agrees to participate in.
“A lot of my fans always complain that I am underrated in the movie industry. I want to tell you something today: this grace I am enjoying, I don’t deserve it at all,” he said.
The actor also noted that age can be a challenge for performers in the film industry, as many actors above 50 sometimes struggle to remain in the spotlight.
“At my age, people sometimes forget actors in the movie industry because I am above 50 years old,” he added.
Despite this, Chatta emphasized that the industry still has many talented actors who are younger and highly skilled in their craft.
He maintained that he still has the freedom to choose the projects he works on and the colleagues he collaborates with.
“I still have the courage to pick my jobs and who I choose to work with. I am well-favoured by God, and I am forever grateful,” he said. See more, details. .
